big strides

Logan attended his first speech therapy session of the school year this morning at our elementary school. As I suspected, he’s by far met all the goals we set for him in his IEP last spring. His speech therapist wants to meet with him a few more times so she can determine what our next set of goals needs to be. He sometimes still drops some of his consonant sounds when he is using words in a sentence, so it makes him hard to understand at times. So that will probably be a next goal that we write.

Sometime this fall or winter, I think we'll be to a point where he's all caught up, and will no longer be eligible for speech. What a difference a year makes! This time last year, he was receiving speech and occupational therapy every week at home. And here he is, going to big boy preschool, making new friends, speaking in paragraphs and making us proud.

Awesome job, big guy!
